Folder 1 - Public Reports on Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects of Forensic Genetics
A large number of ethical principles and concepts appear in contemporary discussions of the human and social implications of advances in biotechnology. The material provided in this folder provides an introduction to how such principles and concepts have been introduced into assessments of forensic genetics in several major public reports which first considered emerging developments in forensic genetic policy and practice. Later folders provide more detail on the way that subsequent innovations in forensic genetic policy and practice have necessitated revisions or supplements to such earlier social, ethical and legal understandings.
