Public Relation Conference of the European Forensic Genetics - Network of Excellence

30th September 2014 (5:30 -7:00 pm)

Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union, Rue Montoyer 47, 1000 Brussels

The EUROFORGEN-Network of Excellence, funded by the FP7 SECURITY Programme, is as far as noticed the only major project which is currently supported by FP7 covering forensic genetics. Using this unique and privileged position, the Consortium has organised a Public Relations Conference on September 30, 2014 in Brussels, to raise the awareness of the public as well as of decision makers, stakeholders and the EU research administration about the growing lack of public funding both at national and European levels, and further to promote an innovative Forensic Genetics Research Agenda for HORIZON 2020.

This public relation conference provided a series of short presentations that included details of the main scientific interests pursued by members of the Consortium, the significance of this work for policing and security priorities, the shaping of our work by the ‘Responsible Research and Innovation’ agenda, as well as a list of topics for advanced research topics.
