Dr Lynn Dennany from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, has extensive experience in the development of novel electrochemical biosensors. She has a strong foundation in electrochemistry, photochemistry and sensor development. Having published widely in this the field of electrochemical sensors and undertaken considerable ground work throughout her research career, Dr Dennany is well placed to identify the areas in need of further study and elaboration. In addition, her understanding of real-world requirements is a significant benefit to this research.
Her work has highlighted the ability of sensors to detect extremely low levels of DNA bases which will be of importance in ensuring the success of this work package. This work is at the cutting edge of bio-recognition monitoring. Being an entirely new approach within forensic identification, the success of this research will require a truly multidisciplinary approach and which is a strength this project team.
